Project Background: the customer is a third-party oilfield services company. It adopts energy management contracting mode and replaces traditional diesel generator sets with natural gas generator sets to supply power for the drilling crew. The company also settles proceeds with the drilling crew in accordance with the agreed gas or electricity price.
Project Overview: 4 sets of AMICO gas generators (1000 kW, 600 V) are equipped in this project to supply main power for the customer’s 12,000-meter electric-driven drilling system. By investigating into the actual usage of the drilling system, it’s confirmed that in the practical application of the system, its commonly used load is between 1800 and 2800 kW (frequency of usage ≥ 80%) and its maximum load reaches 3200 kW (frequency of usage ≤20%).
Project Principle: the project works as follows: 6 to 22MPa high-pressure natural gas flows through the CNG tank lorry and unloading system into the decompression pry, then outputs natural gas within the pressure range of 0.4 to 0.9MPa after decompressing in the decompression pry. The low-pressure gas (≥ 0.4MPa) flows through the buffer tank into the gas generator set. When the gas generator set operates normally, one set of gas gen-set will be taken as the bus bar to realize parallel operation, and then 600 V / 50 Hz power will be delivered to the drilling crew through four sets of power split switch cabinets.
Project Benefits Analysis: the drilling crew consumes about 450,000 Nm3 gas from the beginning to the completion of drilling a well, and the gas cost of the oilfield services company is 2.1 yuan / Nm3 (including freight). The settlement price between the company and the drilling crew is about 3.8 yuan / Nm3. For each well, by excluding costs of parts, maintenance and labor, the oilfield services company can generate 700,000 yuan gains, and the drilling crew can save about 400,000 yuan of fuel costs as well as operation and maintenance costs of existing diesel generator sets.
